I got new running shoes!
I splurged and got myself a pair of the Asics Gel Nimbus. They are super comfortable and so far my feet feel great walking in them. I wore them to the gym this morning to do my elliptical/weights workout and I really enjoyed how they fit my foot. I think we have a winner!
I headed to the gym early today and met my friend Kirsten. I like working out with a friend, it gives me the motivation to actually drag my lazy butt to the gym! I did 20 minutes on the elliptical and day 1 of the Livefit workouts.
As I said before, I'm not following the Livefit plan very closely. I am not eating the diet they provided (a little too bland for me at this point) and I''m not following the reccomendations for cardio- somehow I think 4 weeks of no cardio may hurt my triathlon performance juuuust a wee bit! The strength workouts however, look amazing. I really enjoyed day 1(chest and triceps) which consisted of:
Dumbell bench press
Flat bench cable flyes
Overhead triceps dumbell extensions
All exercises are done 3 sets of 12 reps with 1 minute rest in between the sets. I didn't need the one minute rest (which probably meant the weights were too light) so I just started going again when I was ready. I think I'll try upping the weights next week and see what happens.
After the gym, Will and I had another awesome breakfast. It was similar to yesterday's eats, and dang it was delish! The weather was unreal here again today, so I spent a couple of hours reading magazines and helping (read: supervising) Will fix the trailer. It got really hot around 1:30 so we decided to go for a quad ride with my mom, my brother and his girlfriend.
I didn't have my camera with me, so I took a couple of photos with my phone.
