I am so lucky to have the opportunity to live where I do. My parents bought 40 acres surrounded by crown land just before I was born. I lived here with them until I moved out with my boyfriend and 2 friends Ali and Kirsten when I was 20.
After about a month,I decided that I wanted to move back out of town. I was born a country girl, and I just couldn't get used to the noise and lights of the city. I remember my first Halloween in our house, I carved an awesome pumpkin and left it out on our front steps for all to admire. In the morning, there was nothing left but pumpkin chunks. I was devastated. My roomies (who all grew up in town) forgot to tell me that people smash pumpkins if they get left outside. That was the last straw for me.
My awesome pumpkin, pre-smashing

We lived in that house for 2 years before Will and I got married. My parents invited us to get a trailer and move onto their property, so that's exactly what we did. We've been living here for a year now and I absolutely love it! Our plan at the moment is to stay here for five years. By that point we should be able to afford a pretty hefty down payment on a chunk of land. I am so grateful to my mom and dad. I have the best parents ever!

What about you.... do you prefer urban or rural?
