Move it Monday on a Tuesday... shows how organized I am lately!!
Again, weekend went way too fast! I spent mine cleaning the house and working on my courses...boring. I foresee more of the same next weekend.
Workouts Mar. 31- Apr. 6
Monday- Crossfit 5X8 Deadlifts for strength followed by 3 RFT of 20 box jumps, 20 push-ups, 20 Kettle bell swings and 20 push-press
Tuesday- walking 60 mins
Wednesday- We did crossfit total, where you find you 1 rep max for back squats, strict press and Deadlifts. I was afraid to put weight on the strict press because of my shoulder so I just did a few sets of 10 with just the bar. my 1RM for back squat ended up being 125lbs, and 165lbs for deadlift. Not too shabby for my 3rd week back at crossfit! I'm excited to try them again in a couple of months and see where I'm at.
On Thursday I had massage therapy for my shoulder. It is always super intense and I'm usually sore for a couple of days after, so I don't end up getting much movement in. My back ended up spasming after my appointment, so I went back Thursday evening for another session (my RMT is seriously the best!). Needless to say, I took a couple of days off from exercise to make sure everything was back to normal, so Thurs, Fri and Sat were a write off.
Sunday- I went for a 45 minute run with Baxter, the weather was amazing!! My parents were heading out for a walk with my grandma and her boyfriend (who is in his 80's and probably in better shape than I am, it's crazy!) so Will and I joined them for a 2 hour trek! I was so glad to get outside.
What's coming up fitness wise:
This week I'm starting an 8 week 5K training plan. I really want to get a sub 25 min 5K this year, so I'm hoping this plan will help me get closer. My fastest time last year was 26:44, and I definitely wasn't following any sort of plan. I am going to start adding in spin and swims on my cross training days as I am hoping for a PR at the Wasa Tri this year again! I would love to knock a couple more minutes off of my time. I am going to crossfit 2 days a week since I can't go on Fridays because of working out of town that day- I can't wait until summer so I can get back to a 3 day/week routine!
I also ordered the Turbo Fire DVDs. I've heard that they are fun and effective, and some days I just don't feel like running swimming or biking!
Anyone tried the Turbo Fire DVDs before? Thoughts?
