I'm totally experiencing that right now! Things have been crazy busy around here. I have been reading lots of blogs, but haven't been finding the time to write my own. Things are starting to settle a bit (sort of), so hopefully I will be able to update more often. Since this blog is called eating running living, I think I'll tackle the catch-up time in order!
In the eating department.....
I have tried a few new recipes in the past month that have been amazing! I made these 2 ingredient pumpkin muffins twice- once witha spice cake mix, and once with a chocolate cake mix (with chocolate chips added to the batter too!). I liked them as chocolate muffins, and Will liked them better with the spice cake mix. Definitely a quick and easy recipe though!
I also made crockpot ranch chicken tacos. It doesn't get much simpler than this! The second time I made the recipe I used water instead of chicken broth because I found it a little too salty for my taste. Amazingly easy dinner recipe!
In the running department.....
My mom and I have completed a couple of races since I last updated. We did a sprint triathlon in Spokane in August. I came in 7th in my age group out of 40, so I was really happy with that! My mom is a machine and was 3rd in her age group!

In September we did a 10K race in Creston. This was my 3rd tie doing this race, it is definitely one of my favorites. You run alongside a bird and wildlife sanctuary, so the scenery is amazing! Its also a small race, meaning I get to win medals :) I was 2nd in my age group, and my mom was 3rd in hers!
We have a half marathon coming up in Vancouver in 2 weeks. It should be lots of fun! I am mostly looking forward to getting away for the weekend.

In the living department.....
Things have been busy in the living department since we last chatted! I was hired on as a Student Services teacher at one of the middle schools in town for this school year. It has been interesting so far, it is so different from being a classroom teacher. Going from teaching grade 1 to working with students in grade 7, 8 and 9 has been an adjustment too! I am enjoying the challenge so far though.
Will and I bought a house at the end of August! There were renters in it when we bought it, so we don't get to move in until November 1st, but that is sneaking up quickly! We don't have to do much to the house, but I'm looking forward to doing some small renos as we go. I am most excited for the big yard, and the fact that it is a very short walk to the community forest...and also to have more than one bathroom!
Will and I always head to Edmonton for Thanksgiving, so we spent the weekend hanging out with his family. I'm super lucky to have 2 pretty amazing sisters in law (sister in laws?), and it was awesome to see them and spend some time with them (they both live in Calgary, so we don't see them super often).
I think we are caught up for now! Hopefully it won't be quite so long in between this post and the next!
