Baby R- Week 29

Highlights of Week 29

My mom and I took a trip to Kalispell to do some shopping last weekend, we had a great time! We looked at some baby stuff, but unfortunately didn't find any super awesome deals (stupid exchange rate!). We did have luck in the food department though.. I can't believe the variety of every type of food that they have! I'm pretty sure if I lived there I'd weigh about 900 lbs. I think my favorite purchase was a jar of salted caramel nutella type spread that I have been enjoying with apple slices.

I had another prenatal appointment, we've transitioned into appointments every 2 weeks now. Everything is looking good, I passed the GD test, and my iron levels are good (even without an iron supplement, thank goodness because the one I had to take before made me feel awful). Baby is measuring a little small based on the fundal height, but still within normal.

Last week my issue was too much rain, this week it is too much sun! Apparently nothing makes me happy these days. It's been between 30-35 degrees here this week, so Baxter and I have been delaying our walks until 9:30 pm. It's starting to cool off again, so I'm hoping to get back into our regular routine of after school walks... for the last 2 weeks of school! Yahoooooo!


While I was at Costco I bought a giant bag of chia seeds. I'd never used them before, but I have always wanted to try them out. Turns out that chia pudding = delicious! We tried two different recipes, a chocolate peanut butter one, and a raspberry lemon one (I switched the blueberries for raspberries). Go figure, I preferred the chocolate one, but both were super delicious, and made a very filling breakfast!

We tried a couple of new dinner recipes that were definite winners. Will made cheesy buffalo chicken breasts one night, We ate them with corn on the cob and sweet potatoes- delish! I made this Tequila lime quinoa shrimp salad and ooohhhh my gosh, its unreal!! The only thing I will hange when I make it again is to cut way wayyyy back on the red onion. I used half the amount the recipe called for and it was still a little to oniony for us. We have been eating the leftovers cold, and they are so so good!

I've been having a few too many not so healthy treats lately (all the ice cream!!), so I am trying to work in more veggies and fruits during the day. Raspberries are so so good right now, I've been inhaling them!

How I'm feeling

Wayyyy tired this week! I find it so weird, I am exhausted, but when I head to bed I lay there wide awake until 1 or 2 in the morning. I'm not uncomfortable, I just can't seem to turn off my brain. So irritating. After work I've been dozing on the couch in our basement where it is nice and cool. I'm so looking forward to being off work and being able to have daily naps.. I know I better enjoy them now!

Current projects/purchases

I bought some cute neutral newborn sleepers while we were in Kalispell, as well as some sheets. I also ordered a crib and a glider. My mom is painting the nursery this weekend, I'm looking forward to seeing how that turns out!
